Programs
We meet every Friday night at 7pm for worship, games, lessons, snacks, fellowship and fun! Come out and bring your friends. Currently, we are GOING GREEN and our theme is "Be Organic". We are starting at the start and going through the book of Genesis.
We meet at 7:11pm on every First Friday of every Even Month. Join other churches and teens from all over the Bay Area!
In the Summer, we play basketball every week at church. Guys and girls are welcome to join us on Monday nights 7pm-9pm. We also have various events with the Golden State Warriors such as Fellowship Night (at the Arena) and playing on the Warriors court.
Small Groups
Small groups are a great way to know God, others, and even yourself better. If you are interested in joining a small group, contact us at smallgroups@slzjcc.org.
Sunday School
Every Sunday Morning, we meet at 9:30am. Koko Yee and Nadine Yamamoto teach the junior high class while Will Lue and Jim and Amy Yoshihara teach the high school class. Everyone is welcomed so come and learn before worship service.
Events
Winter Vision Winter Camp
A full three day weekend in the mountains of Santa Cruz (Watsonville). This is camp is extremely popular and fills up early ever year! Northern Cal and Southern Cal teens meet at Koinonia Campground for a weekend of worship, games, fellowship, and spiritual growth!!!
Snow Retreat
A full weekend in Arnold, CA (Bear Valley) filled with snowboarding, skiiing, playing in the snow, or just relaxing. It’s a chance to hang out, kick back, and draw closer to God!
Every August, we have a 3-on-3 basketball tournament for all ages and every skill level at the Alameda Naval Air Base Gym. We have various divisions for every player. This year’s tournament will be held on August 21, 2010.
Mt. Hermon Summer Camp
Week long youth camps in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Awesome Worship! Cool Speakers! Even the food is decent! I’ve heart it many times – whenever someone goes for the first time, they are afraid of not knowing anyone. Then they go and have a great time! Come and see for yourself!
River Rafting
We meet around 8am and head to Sacramento. After stopping off for a snack (usually In-N-Out), we head to the river. For a few hours, we glide down the American River. Races, water fights, and a swing highlight the trip. Then – we head back to the Bay Area for dinner.
The Amazing Race
Race all over the East Bay collecting clues,solving puzzles, eating snacks andworking as a team to finish the AMAZING RACE!!!
Every October, we provide an alternative to Halloween called Harvest Festival. It is a safe and fun environment for children of all ages to play games and to win prizes. We have a bible story time during every harvest festival as well.
