Thanksgiving Drive & Outreach

Thanksgiving Food Drive:
Join in our Thanksgiving Food Drive!  Our goal for this year’s Thanksgiving Food Drive is 3000 pounds of canned and non-perishable food.  We are joining this year with International Christian Center across the street from us in order to help supply their food pantry and their Thanksgiving Outreach Dinner.  Please help us feed our community and others around us. Contact Jeff  Kataoka for more information and team assignments.

Thanksgiving Outreach Dinner: If we all throw a couple extra items in our shopping carts over the next couple of weeks, you’ll have a great thanksgiving dinner as well as support the work of International Christian Center’s Outreach Dinner on Wednesday November 23rd.  Here is a list of supplies they are looked for: Thanksgiving Dinner.

If you are interested in volunteering and serving for this outreach event, you can serve on Wednesday November 23rd anytime between 12pm-4pm.  Please go ahead and contact Pastor Eric at 510-483-9455 or by email at eric@slzjcc.org.

Essential Truths of the Bible

“Essential Truths of the Bible,” Adult Sunday School class begins at 9:30 a.m. on Sun., Sept. 12 to Dec. 12th.  You will learn the essential teachings (doctrines) of the Christian faith.  We will use a book from Bruce Bickel & Stan Jantz, the same authors of Bible 101.  Please contact Pastor Brian to purchase a book.

We’ll answer questions like:

  • Is He personally involved in the details of my life?
  • What is the Trinity? Is God really three in one?

We’ll answer these questions and much much more.  We’ll see going through several of the key Christians doctrines. Come join us for this life changing class!

Annual Craft Day

San Lorenzo Japanese Christian Church

Annual Craft Day

Saturday November 12th 2011

The women of the San Lorenzo Japanese Christian Church would like to invite you to the Annual Women’s Craft Day on Saturday, 12 November 2011, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.  Registration begins at 9 a.m. with the program beginning at 9:30 a.m.

If you want to make unique and inexpensive gifts for your friends, birthdays, holidays or no reason at all, this is the place to start!  Classes tend to fill up quickly, and registration is first come, first serve.  Due to limited space, there will be no child care provided during the event.  We also ask that participants be 18 years or older.

For those of you who have not experienced our Craft Day, one of the highlights is being treated to a delicious bento lunch followed by a short program and a drawing for door prizes.  This year we will be privileged to hear from Pam Yata who will be sharing with us about her faith in God and the many things the Lord is teaching her. Everyone will have a chance to win one of the many craft items being offered.

Fellowship, crafts, food and fun…what are you waiting for?  There isn’t much time to register.  Deadline for registration is Sunday, 30 October 2011.  Don’t forget to invite your friends.  If you have any questions, please call the church at (510) 483-9455.  We look forward to seeing you soon.

Sincerely yours,

The Women of the San Lorenzo Japanese Christian Church
